No Sign of a Slowdown: The Most and Least Affordable Bay Area Cities for Home Owners and Renters

Bay Area real estate is booming and unlikely to see a significant cooling any time soon, particularly in the white-hot cities of Oakland and San Francisco.
That’s one takeaway from San Francisco-based real estate firm Paragon, which crunched market data to find out which areas in the Bay Area are the most and least affordable for renters and homebuyers.
Paragon’s two new reports look at affordability by county, based mostly upon data from the fourth quarter of 2015 by the California Association of Realtors.
Housing affordability, both in terms of home prices and apartment rents, continues to be a huge issue in the Bay Area, according to Patrick Carlisle, chief market analyst for Paragon Real Estate.
