Sobrato Moves Forward with Broadway Plaza Project in Redwood City

One of the Peninsula’s busiest developers, the Sobrato Organization, is moving forward with a 15.3-acre project in Redwood City that promises to bring 520 homes and 420,000 square feet of office.

The development, known as Broadway Plaza, is undergoing environmental review and could lock in city approval in 2019.

The project is another example of Redwood City’s push for higher density, mixed-use developments, said Rob Hollister, president of Cupertino-based Sobrato. “With most of our undergoing environmental, we are trying to do them in a mixed-use context that is coming primarily from an environmental and traffic point of view,” he said. “There are relatively few cities that has mixed-use zoning. (Redwood City) happens to one of them.”
