San Francisco may have sky-high prices when it comes to everything from real estate to avocado toast, but at least the Northern California city seems to also have high salaries.
In fact, San Francisco has the highest salaries in the world, with residents bringing in an average of $6,526 a month net of tax, according to Deutsche Bank’s “Mapping the World’s Prices 2019.” The city also has the highest disposable income (after rent) at $4,710 a month.
As the tech sector grows in the Bay Area, the City by the Bay has climbed “a stunning 7 and 21 places on these two measures over the last 5 years,” the report says.
This year S.F. unseated Zurich from its long-standing dominance in both of these categories. Zurich’s average monthly salary is $5,896 and disposable income is $4,626.
